| About The Tidewater Chapter |
The Tidewater Chapter of AAMT held its first informational seminar in October 1982 at the Ramada Inn in Norfolk with an overwhelming 120 attendees. In May 1983, TAAMT became a fully recognized chapter.
TAAMT continues to organize a yearly symposium and has a yearly Transcriptionist of the Year award. Our chapter meetings provide informative lectures, preapproved continuing education units, and a warm atmosphere where medical transcriptionists can network and share information about medical updates and job opportunities.
Over the years, we have had a great deal of support from area hospitals, physicians and community leaders. We are proud to be a part of the Virginia Association for Medical Transcription.
